- The Belgian act's latest LP was recorded live in one take with a seven-piece band.
Soulwax are back with a new album, From Deewee.
The band, formed around the Dewaele brothers from Ghent (who also operate as 2ManyDJs), has been dormant for a while, aside from a film soundtrack released last year. From Deewee is their first studio album of all new material since 2008's Part Of The Weekend Never Dies. The new album was inspired by their Transient Program For Drums And Machinery tour last year—for the album, they wanted to "record these songs live with the exact same setup, machines and musicians as... on the road."
The album was recorded by a seven-piece band all in one take at the Deawele brothers' home studio in Ghent, using an array of instrumentation and hardware as well of a "wide range of effects." It includes last year's "Transient Program For Drums And Machinery" single as well as 11 new tracks. The group will head out on a tour of the UK and Europe starting in late March to mark the release of the album.
