Mica Levi is among the nominees for Best Original Score at the 2017 Academy Awards.
The British producer, composer and band leader received the nomination for her work on Jackie, a biopic about former US first lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Hauschka, a German artist known for his work with electronics and prepared piano, was also nominated for his Lion score, which he composed alongside Dustin O'Halloran. Jackie isn't the first major film that Levi's worked on—she also wrote the score for Under The Skin, a sci-fi horror film starring Scarlett Johansson. The news of her nomination comes only a few months after the release of Remain Calm, her album with cellist Oliver Coates.
The 89th Academy Awards ceremony will air on February 26th on ABC, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
