  • The BPM Festival will host events in Brazil and Portugal in 2017. Parties in the Brazilian towns of Praia Brava, Itajai and Balneário Camboriú are up first between April 28th and May 1st. Held in conjunction with Gustavo Conti of Warung Beach Club (profiled here for this month's RA In Residence leg), it will be the first time The BPM Festival has taken place outside Playa Del Carmen, the coastal city in Mexico it's called home for ten years. The BPM Festival's first European jaunt will go down in a TBA coastal location in Portugal in September, with dates TBC. News of the expansion comes partway through The BPM Festival's tenth edition, which runs from January 6th through 15th with artists such as Basic Soul Unit, Butch and Cajmere on the bill. (See the full schedule here.) There's no word on the lineups for the Brazil or Portugal editions, but you can likely count on a mixture of house and techno acts to play. "After ten years of honing our craft, we're ready to take our grand show on the road," says The BPM Festival's co-founder and director Phillip Pulitano. "We hope to continue our commitment to diverse and forward-thinking lineups and expand to new territories and show the beauty of the different countries to our international fans who are the true techno tourists."
