The Japanese abstract techno purveyor's first full-length lands on 10 Label in January.
Japanese producer Yuji Kondo will release his debut album, Faces Past, in January.
Kondo is known for crafting dark, experimentally inclined techno as both a solo artist, using his given name and the Ducerey Ada Nexino alias, and alongside Katsunori Sawa as Steven Porter. Over the past seven years or so, he's appeared on the likes of Semantica, Perc Trax, SNTS, Genesa and Weevil Neighbourhood, while also putting out productions through 10 Label, the Kyoto-based imprint he runs with Sawa where Faces Past will see release.
The eight-track, 45-minute LP is the second solo record credited to Kondo's own name, and the first for 10 Label, after a split 12-inch from Kondo and Sawa and three compilation EPs (whose contributors included Ancient Methods, Perc and Matthew Herbert). With artwork courtesy of Paris photographer David Ferrua, it's set to arrive on vinyl first, in January. A digital version will follow in February.
Kondo, Sawa and their Steven Porter project are booked for Space Baghdad at Tokyo club Contact on January 24th.
