  • A new Culturebox show, Variations, features the likes of Jeff Mills and Dubfire collaborating with jazz and classical musicians, to pay tribute to icons such as John Coltrane and Johann Sebastian Bach. The first live taping features Mills alongside French saxophonist Émile Parisien, interpreting the work of John Coltrane. On November 22nd, Culturebox will air an episode with French house mainstay Chloé and Bulgarian percussionist Vassilena Serafimova taking on minimalist Steve Reich's music. The following week's show features Skryptöm label boss Electric Rescue reinterpreting Bach with the experimental cellist Gaspar Claus and then Dubfire and Mari Samuelsen will rework composer Arvo Pärt on December 6th. Finally, a collaboration between Paris-based techno producer Zadig and pianist Thomas Enhco, inspired by the late American composer Bernard Hermann, will close out the series on the 13th. Watch the first episode, with Jeff Mills and Émile Parisien on John Coltrane, here.
