- The ten-day Playa del Carmen festival will celebrate its tenth anniversary this January.
The BPM Festival, the sprawling Mexican beachside gathering, has made its first lineup announcement for 2017.
Ten years in, BPM is an annual destination for DJs, industry types and revellers looking for a brief respite from winter, and a continuation of the nonstop party vibes that generally taper off once Ibiza shuts down for the season. This year's edition will run from January 6th through the 15th, spanning two weekends.
The organizers have announced over 100 acts to begin with, including Apollonia, Art Department, Carl Cox, Michael Mayer, Seth Troxler, The Martinez Brothers and Skream. There's a solid Detroit second-wave contingent, with Stacey Pullen, Kenny Larkin and Carl Craig set to DJ, with showcases from the likes of Lee Burridge's All Day I Dream, Solomun's Diynamic Music, and Romania's [a:rpia:r] also locked in. The latter crew will be making their debut at BPM, and their loopy, hypnotic sound should slot in nicely with festival mainstays.
