  • An all-female music festival called Heroines Of Sound will happen in Berlin from December 8th through 10th. The festival is now in its third year, taking up a new home at HAU 2 in Kreuzberg (their first edition in 2014 was held in Berghain's Kantine). Over three days a series of installations, performances and discussions will highlight the roles of pioneering women in the world of electronic music, leaning towards experimental sounds. Shows will shine a spotlight on the work of composers Beatriz Ferreyra and Christine Groult, associates of musique concrète group GRM. Another focus is 20th century voice artist Cathy Berberian, whose pieces will be performed by Anna Clementi. Other music across the festival includes a theremin performance by Dorit Chrysler, conceptual electronica from Lucrecia Dalt and a concert from Friends Of Friends affiliate Perera Elsewhere. The festival will be preceded by two Heroines Editions events with film screenings and live music at Ausland on November 6th and AcudMachtNeu on the 17th. Tickets are available here on RA.
