  • Rider Shafique is inaugurating Young Echo Records with a new EP, I-Dentity. This November, the Bristol MC is presenting two tracks originally written for and performed at schools and community platforms around the UK. They are centred on monologues about Shafique's encounters with racism. Sam Kidel handles production on the A-side, while Amos Childs, AKA Jabu, takes care of the B-side. I-Dentity is the first release on Young Echo Records, a new label founded by the 11-strong Bristol-based crew of artists traversing a difficult-to-define line between dub, grime, avant-garde and much else besides. The collective will handle the second release on the label, a double-disc collection of their own tracks that's expected to land in early 2017. Listen to I-Dentity.
