  • Philharmonie de Paris will present a programme of Steve Reich's music on November 12th and 13th. The event, titled Steve Reich Unlimited, is one of the complex's thematic weekends—two-day events featuring performances, talks and workshops focused on a particular theme. San Francisco string ensemble Kronos Quartet, who have worked with numerous minimalist composers, including Reich, will perform twice. On Saturday, November 12th, they'll present "Around The World," showcasing traditional music from Syria, Mali, India, US, Great Britain and Vietnam. The following day, they'll play several Steve Reich pieces, including WTC 9/11, written in commemoration of the September 11th terrorist attacks. The programme also features Frankfurt Ensemble Modern, who will present Reich's two latest creations, Runner and Pulse. French pianist Chassol, Berlin-based collective s t a r g a z e and American duo Matmos will all reinterpret Reich's music, as well as perform some of their own work, at the closing event on November 13th.
