A double 12-inch of '90s Nervous Records classics will be released later this month.
The NYC label was founded in 1991 by Sam and Mike Weiss, and was one of the most recognizable outlets during the East Coast's house music heyday. The Felix The Cat-style cartoon logo on the center label has become a familiar hallmark to house music diggers. The Nervous 25th Anniversary set features Kenny Dope and Louie Vega, starting off the collection with "The Nervous Track (Ballsy Mix)" as Nuyorican Soul and remixing Joe T Vanelli as Masters At Work. Mood II Swing also features heavily—their pumping versions of Loni Clark, Kim English and The Clubb Kidds are all included. The Todd Terry bonus beats for Swing Kids' "Good Feeling," Classic Man's "Rapid Winds" and Kerri Chandler's 1998 classic "Rain" round out the package.
