- IT will then return to Chicago for their smartbar residency in early November.
Detroit label crew Interdimensional Transmissions will throw their 16th annual Samhain party on Saturday, October 29th.
Samhain is a festival and holiday of Gaelic origin that marks the start of the darker half of the year, and serves as a time to honor the dead. (The somewhat spooky event predates modern Halloween.) IT, once again celebrating the occasion at TV Lounge, will bring back to town party favorite and former Detroiter Mike Servito. Label chief BMG will make his solo live debut, while another set on the decks will come from Jeffrey Sfire.
The following Saturday, November 5th, sees IT returning to Chicago for the next edition of their residency at smartbar. BMG and fellow label boss Erika will play a live Ectomorph set, and Erika will also DJ. Israel Vines, the LA-based artist with Midwest roots who's put out records on IT's Eye Teeth sub-label, and local selector Beau Wanzer, who'll self-release a new LP on Halloween, make up the other half of the night's lineup.
For now, listen to BMG's remix of Alpha 606's "Armambo," released on IT earlier this year.
Tickets to that night at smartbar are available here on RA.
