  • A new series called Teaching In Silence will hold its first event in Vancouver on October 14th. The idea behind the party is to highlight "stranger techno and electro sounds," particularly DJs who have an idiosyncratic way of playing those genres. Or, put more simply, "Dark room. Strange things. Heavy fucking sounds," according to the organizers. The first event goes down at Vancouver Art & Leisure, with Seattle's Ctrl_Alt_Dlt—a member of the long-running Sweatbox crew—in the headline slot. Support will come from Nancy Dru and three members of the Body Politic crew: Thegn, KAFKA and Matt Tecson. Listen to Tecson's Body Politic mixtape.
