- Out in October, it includes remixes by Kuedo, Clams Casino and the Teklife crew.
DJ Shadow's Endtroducing..... 20th Anniversary Endtrospective Edition is due out in October, and it comes with a new set of remixes.
It's been 20 years since the release of DJ Shadow's debut album, Endtroducing..... The LP was hugely influential in instrumental hip-hop in terms of the way he treated and arranged samples. Now Island Records has announced a three-disc retrospective edition in time for the anniversary.
Disc one is the LP's original version, while disc two is a collection of alternate takes and live versions. The third disc, which Shadow hinted at last week, collects remixes from mostly younger artists experimenting at the nexus of hip-hop and electronic music. Salva, Hudson Mohawke, Clams Casino, Lee Bannon, Kuedo and the Teklife crew are among the artists he tapped for disc three. The vinyl version is spread out across six LPs.
It follows on the heels of DJ Shadow's first album in five years, The Mountain Will Fall, which came out in June.
