  • John Elliott, founder of Spectrum Spools, and Drew Veres are back with a new Outer Space album called Gemini Suite. Outer Space is a synth project that revolves around the core duo of Elliott, a former member of Emeralds, and Drew Veres, along with a number of occasional collaborators like Drew McDowell and Ralph Hausmann. Their output together has been prolific, releasing more than 15 albums since 2008, although they haven't put out anything since 2014's Phantom Center on Editions Mego. Gemini Suite will come via Amethyst Sunset, a label based in Elliott's home state of Ohio. It's one 36-minute piece split over two sides of vinyl, "complete with chirping birds and crashing waves fit for late night meditations and long drives on I-71" (the highway that connects the major cities of Ohio). Listen to an excerpt.
