  • Ryan James Ford is launching his own label, SHUT. A Canadian producer and DJ now living in Berlin, Ford first surfaced in 2014 when Marcel Dettmann put his track "Arthure Iccon" on fabric 77 before giving it a release on Marcel Dettmann Records. The two would connect again via MDR in 2015 to release Ford's debut EP. More recently, the past few months have seen Ford put out his second EP via Answer Code Request's label, and appear on a compilation launching Tale Of Us's new Afterlife imprint. He's now shared details for SHUT, which will serve as an outlet for his own productions. Ford's first SHUT effort is a four-track EP, Stone Mountain Red. Ford says the record was inspired by "years driving around on LSD listening to Goldie, Claude Young and Autechre" as well as Calgary raves, afterparties and skateboarding. It'll come on vinyl and digital formats near the end of the month, with Hardwax handling distribution. Tracklist A1 Kirra Rengo A2 Erand Dirk B1 Lazore Thout B2 Eiliat Tirrayl SHUT will release Stone Mountain Red on September 30th, 2016.
