- The Japanese techno veteran's new compilation collects eight previously-unreleased tunes.
Japanese techno producer DJ Shufflemaster will put out a collection of previously-unreleased tracks called Retrospective 1995 - 2002 this week.
DJ Shufflemaster, real name Tatsuya Kanamori, is one of Japan's most prolific techno artists, having released a few dozen 12-inches and an album, since emerging in the mid-'90s. Retrospective 1995 - 2002 collects eight tracks produced throughout his first seven years on the scene, all made before he took a decade-long break from releasing records. That break ended with the launch of his Shiki Kyokai label, which hosts the new retrospective, in 2013.
Spread over two slabs of wax, Retrospective 1995 - 2002 presents a range of DJ Shufflemaster tracks, from slamming, percussive techno through to more low-slung fare. It hits stores on Tuesday, August 30th.
Stream samples from the compilation.
