The LP's first single, featuring 'Lady Marmalade' singer Nona Hendryx, is out on August 19th.
Soul Clap will release the lead single from their second album, Soul Clap, on August 19th.
The track, titled "Shine (This Is It)," features Nona Hendryx, who sang alongside Patti LaBelle in the R&B group Bluebelles, best known for their hit "Lady Marmalade." Greg Paulus of the group No Regular Play provides the horn section alongside Kalí Rodriguez and Jason Disu, who plays in Midnight Magic with Morgan Wiley, the track's keyboardist. Much of the album was recorded at George Clinton's What? Studios in Tallahassee, Florida.
Both the single and the album are coming out via !K7 Records and the duo's own Crew Love imprint. The release date on the album is yet to be confirmed. The single comes backed by remixes from the duo of Dimitri From Paris and DJ Rocca.
"It digs deep into our funky souls and turns our wildest dreams into sound," Soul Clap's Charles Levine said of the album. "If EFUNK was an attempt to create a blueprint using our past inspirations, then Soul Clap is the beautiful skyscraper, standing tall as it looks to the future."
Soul Clap will celebrate with a global tour starting on September 30th in the UK and landing in Norway, Copenhagen, Italy and Amsterdam's ADE before another five weeks in the states.
