- The Shapes bandleader has composed music for the upcoming Natalie Portman film.
Mica Levi has composed music for Pablo Larraín's upcoming movie about Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
The score for Jackie is Levi's first major project since Good Sad Happy Bad, a 2015 album with her band Micachu & The Shapes. Levi previously scored 2014 film Under The Skin and that same year released a tape for Demdike Stare's DDS. Earlier this year she released an EP on the same label.
Exclaim reports that Jackie focuses on the events leading up to JFK's 1963 assassination, as seen through the eyes of the First Lady, played by Natalie Portman. Peter Sarsgaard, Greta Gerwig and Billy Crudup also star in the movie, which will debut at Venice Film Festival in September.
