LA party Perpetual Dawn celebrates one-year, releases compilation

- YACHT, Personable and Kid606 will play the anniversary event next weekend.
- Perpetual Dawn will celebrate one year with an gig on August 19th as well as a full-length compilation. The brainchild of Kid 606 (Miguel Trost De Pedro) and Eric Parren, Perpetual Dawn has taken a different approach to warehouse parties than the average LA promoter. Rather than breaking the bank on out-of-town talent, most of the acts that play PD are from LA and De Pedro's former home, San Francisco. Perpetual Dawn has also worked in some creative themes, with past editions based around the filmmakers Herzog and Jodorowsky as well as the influential Italian design and architecture group Memphis Milano. For the show on the 19th, DFA affiliates YACHT will co-headline alongside the confrontational Sub Pop-signed rap group Clipping. Ged Gengras's techno project Personable returns to the party with a live set. Check out the full lineup in the event listing below. Next weekend also sees De Pedro issue a full-length CD collection of artists who have appeared at Perpetual Dawn. It's called Perpetual Dawn - Year One and comes via his label, Tigerbeat6. Pedro has landed exclusives (or live recordings from Perpetual Dawn) from an impressive array of artists, including Peaking Lights Acid Test, Xiu Xiu, Personable, Kit n C.L.A.W.S. and Dntel.
