TV Lounge turns nine with Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts

- The stalwart Detroit venue celebrates a birthday this weekend.
- Detroit's TV Lounge will host its nine-year anniversary party this Saturday. TV is one of the city's key techno and house venues, with inside and outside music spaces making it a go-to spot for both daytime and late-night partying. It becomes particularly busy over Memorial Day weekend during Movement—RA and Chicago's smartbar crew have teamed with TV Lounge for a party during the festival the last two years. This weekend's celebration of nine years in operation, which is also part of a nationwide fundraiser supporting the nonprofit group Give A Beat, will kick off at 6 PM. Montreal purveyor of eclectic house music Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts is atop the bill, and the local side of the lineup includes Shady P, Remote Viewing Party and Mr. Joshooa. Organizers also promise a "secret guest DJ" hailing from New York. Listen in to a 2015 Guillaume cut, the Freerange-issued "You Lost It."
