- The Japanese artist's next LP is coming out on July 29th.
Diagonal Records will release the latest album from Japanese experimentalist NHK yx Koyxen this month.
Doom Steppy Reverb, which is set to arrive on July 29th, is Kohei Matsunaga's second appearance on Diagonal following 2015's Hallucinogenic Doom Steppy Verbs EP. This year Matsunaga has already put out a record on L.I.E.S., and his catalogue includes releases on Raster-Noton, LINE and a trilogy of Dance Classics for PAN. Diagonal Records is calling Doom Steppy Reverb "a pixel-pill gobbling, seesawing wave of techno emotion." For more on NHK yx Koyxen, read Angus Finlayson's 2013 profile.
Powell, who runs Diagonal Records alongside Jaime Williams, has his own album on the way—it's called Sport and it's slated for release on XL Recordings this autumn.
