The first edition, taking place on August 28th, will combine music with other forms of media.
Magda has announced a new event series in Berlin called PERM.
PERM's first instalment will go down on the night of Sunday, August 28th. Launched with live sets from veteran experimentalists Thomas Brinkmann and Frank Bretschneider, the series will aim to "merge the best of both home and club environments." Postbanhof will host the action. There will also be DJ sets from Magda, Hamid, Baby Vulture and Dasha Redkina, and a live set from Akatana. Dasha Redkina will preview a new live show, too, under the name Zoya Zerkalski.
The night will have a focus on visuals. On that front, Magda has enlisted designers House Of North to build a "modular light structure," while German artist Dirk Bell exhibits a sculpture. "PERM is a project inspired by my musical and aesthetic influences growing up in Detroit and always searching for the lines between things," Magda says. "Both the events and record label are based on unique collaborations with various multi-media artists to present something a little different."
There's no word on who'll be stepping up for the second PERM event, though we do know that it will take place on September 25th. A record label is also in the works, but details are TBC.
