Stockholm's Northern Electronics will release a new compilation in late August.
Scandinavian Swords II follows on from last year's limited edition four-track Scandinavian Swords tape. This release, marked with the catalogue number NE30, is a much more expansive undertaking, encompassing 14 productions over three slabs of wax. It features key Northern Electronics artists like founder Abdulla Rashim and Varg—the two collaborate on the set's first and last tracks, and each offers his own solo effort—as well as Acronym and Korridor, and a collection of friends, most of whom are appearing on the label for the first time.
Evigt Mörker, Mr. Tophat, Art Alfie, Fatal (not to be confused with the drum & bass producer) and CA2+ have all been called on for contributions, along with Dorisburg and Fabian Bruhn, who've teamed up under a new collaborative alias, Rjukan. Completing the lineup for this one is Neel, the Italian artist who's been the label's go-to mastering engineer.
Aside from the triple-vinyl version, Scandinavian Swords II will also get a digital release.
