  • RBMA Radio will relaunch in LA with four events between July 11th and the 22nd. The energy drink giant and musical talent incubator will begin broadcasting from a new Arts District studio on July 11th. In typical fashion, they've planned some elaborate happenings to mark the occasion. On the 11th, French filmmaker Gaspar Noé will discuss the role of music in his films with Brian Reitzell, the music supervisor and composer who has had a hand in movies such as The Bling Ring and The Virgin Suicides. Friday the 15th will see RBMA Radio throw a party called United States Of Bass at the recently reopened Union club. As the title implies, for that one, they've booked low-end sounds from a number of US regional scenes—Egyptian Lover, The Arabian Prince and Kingdom represent Los Angeles sounds past and present with New Orleans bounce (Big Freedia), Jersey club (UNiiQU3) and ghettotech (DJ Assault, DJ Funk) also in the mix. The next night there's a show called La Transición, which could refer to the iconic Underground Resistance track (UR operatives Nomadico and Santiago Salazar are on the bill), or new horizons in music produced by Latinos. To that end, Elysia Crampton and members of the N.A.A.F.I. collective are also set to play. Jealous God boss Silent Servant is on headlining duties for that one. The festivities wrap with a PC Music showcase, Pop City, at Create Nightclub. The closing show sees a strong showing from the screwball pop imprint, including A. G. Cook, QT, Hannah Diamond, Felicita, GFOTY and some special guests. Check out the full lineups in the event listings below.
