  • This year's Open Source Festival will go down on Saturday, July 9th, in Düsseldorf. Organisers have locked in UK electronic band Hot Chip to headline. (The festival says it's waited a "very long time" to book the group.) Elsewhere on the bill, downtempo house will be delivered by Max Graef and his Berlin-based band, while rock gets served up by Austria's Bilderbuch and Hamburg's Schnipo Schranke. Naturally, a number of local artists are also billed—Salon Des Amateurs's Wolf Müller links up with Cass for a Balearic set as Wolf Müller & Cass, while Stabil Elite bring their live funk and electronic sound. A launch party will go down at Salon Des Amateurs on Friday, July 8th, with Trevor Jackson and club resident Tolouse Low Trax billed. Read Matt McDermott's review of last year's Open Source here.
