- DVS1's label will release two EPs from the Dutch producer, who's also one half of the techno duo Artefakt.
Lapien has signed to Mistress Recordings for two EPs out in mid-July: Something To Tell You and Something To Show You.
Berlin-based Dutchman Nick Lapien is also part of the duo Artefakt alongside countryman Robin Koek. Lapien's most recent solo record, the Be Here EP, came via Fred P's deep house label Soul People Music last year. Now he's signed up with Mistress Recordings, the outlet founded in 2013 by Midwestern DJ and producer DVS1.
The four-track Something To Tell You and six-track Something To Show You are both out in about a month. Most of the tracks on the latter were taken from Lapien's live set during a Mistress Recordings label night at Panorama Bar in Berlin last September. The other EP is more "song-driven," Lapien says, tracks that "should work equally well at the club as at home for listening."
