- The Frenchmen will put out their first collaborative LP in August.
It's A Fine Line, AKA Ivan Smagghe and Tim Paris, have an album on the way.
The collaborative project between the two London-based French producers has been ongoing since 2008, with the duo appearing on Live At Robert Johnson, Kompakt and I'm A Cliché so far. With their self-titled album, which they say was "thought, rebuilt, announced [and] delayed," It's A Fine Line move over to Kill The DJ.
The duo call It's A Fine Line "a collection of tests, of explorations of the shadows and corners of club culture," going on to say that the two producers "ride through more chaotic trails with dubious reputations and names: white funk, trance groove, electronic psychedelia, greasy rock & roll," naming the likes of Giorgio Moroder, Martin Hannett and Conny Plank as influences. They've also recruited three vocalists for the album: Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand, Quad Throw Salchow's Olivia de Lanzac and Kill The DJ artist C.A.R., AKA Chloé Raunet.
