  • Fantasy Live 1999, Tokyo Black Star's first album in seven years will land on World Famous on June 20th. The group—once the duo of Alex From Tokyo and Isao Kumano, now a trio with the addition of Kenichi Takagi—resurfaced last year when they inaugurated their new label with the Edo Express EP. Now they're bringing a full-length to the imprint with Fantasy Live 1999, which is an "epic 40-minute long meditative live audio painting for your 'mind, body & soul'" partly inspired by the album's colourful cover art (courtesy of longtime Tokyo Black Star collaborator Tomokazu Matsuyama). As its title hints, Fantasy Live 1999 was actually conceived 17 years ago, on "one legendary crazy night when the band tape-recorded an impromptu live performance at a basement bar in the groovy Shimokitazawa neighbourhood in Tokyo." Tracklist A Part One B Part Two World Famous will release Fantasy Live 1999 on June 20th, 2016.
