  • London's Rinse I Born & Bred festival has removed Azealia Banks from its lineup following a Twitter outburst that took aim at Zayn Malik and UK rappers. Banks first hurled racist and homophobic insults at former One Direction artist Malik, who she accused of copying her style. She then took aim at UK rap, which she called "a disgrace to rap culture," before telling her followers that house music originated in the US. In a statement, Rinse FM said: "We have decided to cancel Azealia Banks' headline appearance at Rinse Born & Bred. Rinse Born & Bred is a celebration of rave culture and has been created for EVERYONE. We celebrate inclusivity and equality." Banks had been set to headline the festival's Sunday night. This year's edition of the Haggerston Park event is a collaboration between Found and Rinse FM, and it's happening on June 4th and 5th with the likes of Wiley & Slimzee, Novelist, dBridge, Calibre, PC Music's A.G. Cook and Laurel Halo billed.
