  • Samuel Kerridge will hit Detroit during Movement weekend to play a Modern Cathedrals party on Friday, May 27th. It'll be Modern Cathedrals' second Eden event to take place during the festival weekend, following last year's afterparty with Vatican Shadow and Shifted's Covered In Sand alias, among others. This one is set to go down at Tangent Gallery, and there's a few more rare bookings in store. UK experimental techno purveyor, key Downwards affiliate and Contort boss Kerridge is atop the bill for his local debut. Veronica Vasicka, the New York DJ and mind behind the highly regarded Minimal Wave label, has also been enlisted for her first Detroit gig. The other out-of-towner is Chicago producer and live act Stave, AKA Jon Krohn, half of another Downwards act, Talker. On the local side of the lineup are Modern Cathedrals' Altstadt Echo, playing live, and Äsop. (The two have a split release, Lamentations I, upcoming on the Modern Cathedrals label.) Kerridge released his third album, Fatal Light Attraction, through Downwards back in February—check out its first track, "FLA · 1," below.
