  • Traxx will visit Denver, Colorado for the first time on April 30th. The beloved cult DJ's gig in the Rockies is the only US show on his schedule, though this summer has him appearing at some of the headiest European gatherings going: Strange Sounds From Beyond in Amsterdam, Ireland's Out To Lunch weekender and the inaugural Dekmantel Selectors in Croatia. In both his DJ sets and with his label, Traxx aligns with "jakbeat," a unique sound influenced by raw Chicago house, minimal synth and other outsider music. Last year saw the Windy City native, born Melvin Oliphant III, release a 25-track box set exemplifying the genre, through his label Nation. His first visit to Denver is being organized by Denver crew Deep Club as well as fledgling Minneapolis cassette label Always Human Tapes. The Worm, who are signed to the imprint, will make their live debut at 1010 Workshop, an intimate basement club. Listen to Traxx's Dekmantel podcast below.
