  • The Church Off York has announced the third edition of its annual Berserktown event, set to go down August 12th through 14th at the Teragram Ballroom. Three years in, Berserktown has become a hub for outré music regardless of genre. Last year's edition, which went down at The Observatory in Santa Ana, saw rock deconstructionists Royal Trux reunite while an outdoor "dance tent" hosted spiky acts like Kevin Drumm and Damien Dubrovnik. This year's gathering takes over the more intimate Teragram venue, located just above downtown LA, for three days. The Friday programming comprises the bulk of the electronic artists booked this year. Diagonal boss Powell headlines that night, and he's joined by Genesis P-Orridge's Psychic TV, who are set to perform their 1982 album Force The Hand Of Change in full. Ascetic House experimentalists Marshstepper, a fixture of The Church Off York events, are also on the bill, as are Container and former Hype Williams member Inga Copeland. LA modular dude M. Geddes Gengras will perform a techno set as Personable and The Trilogy Tapes-associated duo Rezzett will make their LA debut. The rest of the bill includes bands like The Kids, the punk band who formed in 1978, and the debut US performance of confrontational Swedish noise-rock band Brainbombs.
