Desire Records has announced two 12-inches with remixes from Monoton's Monotonprodukt 02 and Monotonprodukt 07, due out in April.
Monoton is Konrad Becker, an Austrian artist and researcher who's been involved with minimal synth since the late '70s. His early-'80s LPs, Monotonprodukt 02 and Monotononprodukt 07, got the vinyl reissue treatment from French imprint Desire back in 2012 and 2014. Now the label will follow up with two 12-inches of remixed material off of those albums, with a list of remixers that includes Northern Electronics boss Abdulla Rashim, Opal Tapes founder Basic House and Prostitutes, plus a collaboration between L.I.E.S. mainstays Svengalisghost and Ron Morelli. UK producer Scanner, AKA Robin Rimbaud, also takes a swing, as do Modern Love duo Rainer Veil and Sergie Rezza.
