- The Dutch techno producer's LP will land on his own imprint in May.
Albert Van Abbe's debut LP, Champagne Palestine will arrive via his label VANABBE on May 9th, 2016.
After 15 years of recording music, Van Abbe will release his first long-player. Most of the Dutch producer's material has come via his old label No Comment, which he retired in 2014 in favor of a new one, VANABBE. He also dropped a 12-inch last year, Ostinato, via the Swedish label Trolldans.
His debut album consists of nine stripped-back techno tracks recorded with "small prepared piano fragments." Its narrative arc is loosely tied to a story about chasing a bright red scarab through the desert on a "white Arabian horse," the label says. The text accompanying the release begins: "You wake up on a gold-embroidered divan in the middle of a desert with nothing but a worn canvas stretched between two lonely palm trees to shield you from the blazing sun."
