  • Discwoman has announced two parties in Mexico City on January 8th and 9th. The all-woman collective—which includes artists like Umfang, Via App and Volvox—has curated events in over eight cities since it launched in Brooklyn last year. They'll head to Mexico City early next month, teaming up with local promoters for a two-night program that includes live artists and DJs from both NYC and the Mexican capital. The Black Madonna will make her local debut at their Friday night party, which skews towards house and techno. Umfang (playing live) and Volvox will head down from Brooklyn for the event, joined by Mexican producers Ninasonik, Demian Licht and Jenice, of the duo Zombies In Miami. The next night's gig will go down on the terrace of Hostel 333 in the Roma neighborhood, with a lineup of distinctly Latin-influenced selectors: Esamipau, Riobamba, Bearcat, HD and Puma. Discwoman have rented out the entire Hostel 333 for the event, and out-of-towners are invited to stay for the weekend. They'll also be holding daytime panels and workshops there, though those details haven't been announced yet. More info about tickets, housing and location is available at the event's Facebook page.
