Time Warp US switches venue amid local pressure

- The event's organizers will now hold next weekend's two-day festival at 39th Street Pier.
- Time Warp US has moved its venue festival, scheduled to run November 20th through the 21st, from Bedford Armory to 39th Street Pier. The techno event has run into venue trouble for its first two stateside editions. Yesterday, Crown Heights officials held a press conference in which they complained they were not consulted over a permit granted by the Department Of Citywide Administrative Services granting Time Warp permission to run in the neighborhood's Bedford Armory. Time Warp US has now conceded to these complaints. They'll move the event to last year's venue, the 39th Street Pier. The promoter provided the following statement via its Facebook page: "As techno fans, we are members of a global community that celebrates inclusion and equality. That spirit manifests at the local level too. Out of respect to the community of Crown Heights, we have agreed to move Time Warp US 2015 from the Bedford Union Armory to the spectacular site of Time Warp US 2014, just 5 miles away. The dates remain the same."
