  • When your release receives plaudits from the likes of John Digweed, Pete Tong, Sander Kleinenberg and Paul Oakenfold you can assume that your time in the studio was very well spent producing something of class. Tilt (Mick Parks & Mick Wilson) have done just that with their latest ‘The Left Of Centre EP’. The EP is an eclectic collection of three tracks and the first in an ongoing series. As taken from the official press release here is a description of each track:
‘The Siren’, (track one on the EP and over 8 minutes long), weaves seductive female vocals and North African tribal rhythms together with tablas and finger cymbals, providing an irresistible lure over the sound of a distant siren. A drum roll and bassline propels the tune into a mesmerising piece of uptempo beauty two thirds of the way through. ‘Bitter and Twisted’ – (featuring the haunting voice of Zee) is a departure from the Tilt norm; a lush, torchy, David Arnold-like theme tune for a Bond movie not yet conceived...menace and melancholy in equal parts with flawless P&W production… ‘One Mile Deep’, with its tight rolling beats and perfectly paced build up is an exercise in laid-back breakbeat, reminiscent of a Rob Playford joint with lashings of the Brother’s Hartnoll.
Parks and Wilsons' ‘Left of Centre EP’ will be available on May 12.
