- The six-tracker is the Canadian producer's first release on his own Secret Songs label.
Ryan Hemsworth is back with a new EP called Taking Flight, due out on October 9th.
The new record is the Toronto producer's first release since his second album, Alone For The First Time, dropped last year. It's also Hemsworth's first effort on Secret Songs, the digital label he started last year that's now hosted more than 20 free EPs, mostly from young and up-and-coming artists.
For Taking Flight, he teams up with Seattle's Lucas, who previously provided Secret Songs with its eighth drop, "Keep U Warm.". The EP will be released both for free and through the usual digital retailers. You can stream "Angel" below.
"With Lucas, I would say he’s more talented than me as a producer," Hemsworth said in an interview with Billboard announcing the EP. "These are amazing artists that just for whatever reason haven’t got the fanbase yet. I just want to work with whomever. If I can work with Future that would be amazing but I'm just as happy to be creating music with anyone. Talent is talent. That's how I try to always view it."
