  • Ben UFO has cancelled his upcoming appearances with Joy Orbison in Canada and the US. The news came the day that the tour was supposed to start with a back-to-back gig in Vancouver. The UK duo were set to appear there, as well as in San Francisco and at LA's FYF Festival, but the US State Department has not yet approved Ben UFO's visa application. They also have possession of his passport, according to a statement on Facebook which you can read in full here. The Vancouver show has been cancelled completely, though the San Francisco party will reportedly go ahead with Joy Orbison. "The State Department are still attempting to deal with a backlog of visa applications caused by technical faults in June this year, which was the initial cause of delay—but the most recent holdup has been totally without explanation," he said. "Having been told at the embassy last week that my visa had been approved, my application is now marked as requiring additional 'processing', and the embassy are still in possession of my passport." "I can only offer sincere apologies to the promoters and to the folks who were hoping to see me play, and promise that I'll try and make it up to you as soon as possible," he added.
