- The first LP, recorded with Fennesz, is out in September.
King Midas Sound will return with a series of collaborative albums, starting with Edition 1, a ten-track LP recorded with Fennesz.
Due out September 18th, Edition 1 is the first King Midas Sound LP since 2009's Waiting For You. Whereas that record came out on Hyperdub, this time round the group—comprising original trio Kevin Martin, Roger Robinson and Kiki Hitomi plus Austrian musician Christian Fennesz—will land on Ninja Tune. The label says that Martin, following his 2014 Angels & Devils album as The Bug, "wanted to create a record focused on kaleidoscopic sonic beauty, bathed in the bluest emotional lyricism." Edition 1 was made using guitar tracks, samples and unreleased material from Fennesz's archive.
