- Quince, Locked Groove and label boss Nuno Dos Santos are among those contributing to the cause.
Utrecht label Something Happening Somewhere has a double compilation, simply titled Somewhere I and II, in the works.
Something Happening Somewhere (or SoHaSo) was launched two years ago by Nuno dos Santos, a former resident at the well-loved but now-shuttered Amsterdam club Trouw. To date the label has issued six records, the most recent being Love Over Entropy's Tonii EP from back in April, which featured a remix from Dixon.
Now comes plans for a double compilation with tracks from a blend of "known and unknown" artists. Quince, who's produced for Delsin, Smallville and Music Man Records, but who's kept a low profile in recent years, will be on hand with a rare one-off track, and also joining the fun are Hotflush affiliate Locked Groove, Stefan Vincent and Chymera. Nuno Dos Santos and Love Over Entropy have turned in cuts as well, along with some newer names like Polynation and Island Kizhi. There are 14 tracks in all, to be divided into two releases: Somewhere I will arrive in late August, with Somewhere II following two weeks later in September. They'll come in limited-edition CD and digital formats, but first a four-track vinyl sampler will drop on August 14th. You can try out samples from that one below.
