  • Honey Soundsystem has announced plans to release a pair of EPs on August 14th. The San Francisco-based crew, which counts Jason Kendig and Dark Entries boss Josh Cheon among its ranks, has established itself as a rising underground DJ crew, with residencies in LA and Chicago in addition to regular Bay Area parties. Honey Soundsystem assisted with Dark Entries' popular Patrick Cowley archival releases, and next month they'll release some new material on vinyl. First up is Bézier, AKA Honey Soundsystem's Robert Yang. His upcoming three-tracker is called ?, which translates from Japanese to "Everyone." The EP's analog electro sound is meant to evoke a space travel narrative. For the second 12-inch, Honey Soundsystem remains focused on airing out their own productions, presenting Jackie House's vinyl debut, Jackie being the assumed name of Honey's Jacob Sperger. Stydive's "vocal sample nods to punk's past," according to the label. Rising SF producer Matrixxman provides a remix for the B-side. Check out clips of Jackie House's Stydive below.
