- The Erased Tapes trio will play seven dates in July.
Dawn of Midi will head out on a tour of North America, beginning with a date in New Hampshire on July 22nd.
Originally convening as music students at Cal Arts, the trio of Aakaash Israni, Amino Belyamani and Qasim Naqvi signed to Erased Tapes earlier this year. The UK label gave their debut, Dysnomia, an expanded release. RA's Angus Finlayson said the three-piece, which utilizes a semi-traditional jazz setup of piano, drums and double-bass, creates "dizzying cross-rhythms [that] recall techno, yes, but also much older kinds of trance-inducing rhythmic music," in his positive review.
After the New England show, the group takes a quick trip through Canada, hitting Montreal and Toronto before heading back across the border for a Chicago concert at Constellation. The band will wrap the east coast and midwest trip with gigs in Philadelphia, D.C. and New York City.
