- Mike Simonetti's new imprint will drop a couple of 12-inches later this month.
2MR will release Deardrums' Aquila and Dust's Moth On Fire on June 30th.
Last December, former Italians Do It Better man Mike Simonetti announced his new imprint, 2MR, run with Captured Tracks boss Mike Sniper. The label released an album from Simonetti's new project, Pale Blue, back in April, and now they've announced their first out-of-house signings, Deardrums and DUST.
Deardrums is Venetian producer Bottin's new project with fellow Italian artist Leo di Angilla. The label says: "Deardrums deploy an arsenal of analog drum machines (mostly played by hand) in what feels like a neo-tribal soundscape, drawing from pre-Hispanic elements (think Mayan and Aztec, not Latin) and pseudo-African rhythms."
DUST is a trio fronted by Korean visual and noise artist Greem Jellyfish and also includes Michael Sherburn and John Barclay, the latter known for his ownership of Bushwick lynchpin Bossa Nova Civic Club. DUST's 2MR release follows records for Mannequin, Sci-Fi & Fantasy and Low Life Inc.
