  • ESG will play live at The Regent Theater in Los Angeles on June 26th, 2015. ESG was formed in the South Bronx in 1978 by the four four Scroggins sisters—Deborah, Marie, Renee and Valerie. They'd go on so sign with Ed Bahlman's 99 Records, an imprint which lovingly documented NYC's early '80s no wave and punk-funk scenes. Their self-titled, Martin Hannett produced 1981 EP contained "UFO," a track that would go on to be sampled by Big Daddy Kane, The Notorious B.I.G. and J Dilla. After disbanding in 1984, the group has reformed at various points over the years. In LA, they're joined by Peaking Lights Acid Test—the dubby solo vehicle of Aaron Coyes. Daniel T, of Cosmic Kids, and Sex Stains, a group fronted by Allison Wolfe of riot grrrl group Bratmobile, round out the bill.
