  • TBA Brooklyn is back in business this Saturday, May 16th. The Williamsburg dance music joint closed in November of last year after city inspectors determined that the space was not up to code. It’s a familiar story for many of the city’s smaller nightlife establishments (such as Bushwick’s Bossa Nova Civic Club), which must contend with stringent building safety standards that often prove difficult to meet. TBA will reopen this weekend, however, with a new seating configuration and lower capacity that satisfies the demands of the inspectors. "We are very happy to have finally worked through all of our issues and to be able to re-open our doors," said TBA business partner Mehmet Erkaya in a recent statement. Erkaya went on to thank those who supported their fundraising effort during the closure period, saying, "we literally would not be here without your help." Opening night DJs are 34th Street John, Blake Potter, Steven Letrigre, Erkaya himself and Gio Gulez.
