Olympic Mess is Luke Younger's fourth appearance on PAN, following 2012's Impossible Symmetry, 2013's Silencer (co-released on his own label, Alter) and last year's The Hollow Organ. The label says this latest release is inspired by Younger's explorations of "loop-based industrial music, dub techno and Balearic disco," using a mix of samples, found sounds and electroacoustics. It was recorded in London, New York and Berlin.
"It's about exploring a perverse desire to pull the rug from under yourself, and the struggle to achieve a healthy equilibrium between one's personal and artistic lives," says Younger. "Dealing with the problematic consequences of pushing your own limits, forming and dissolving relationships, transient lifestyles, physical and mental exhaustion, excess, and other kinds of personal chaos."
Olympic Mess will be available on digital, CD and double-vinyl formats.
