  • A new label called Fuck Reality will reissue Westbam's "Oldschool Baby (Piano Mix)" with remixes from Smallpeople and Gerd Janson. Several versions of "Oldschool Baby" were released in 2002, but the "Piano Mix" is the best known. Physical copies of the track, which features vocals from Nena Kerner, are extremely rare, making it one of the most sought-after Westbam cuts ever produced. The German was a key player in the rise of Berlin techno (he organised the first Berlin Mayday rave, and frequently played at seminal venues UFO and E-Werk), and though he remains fairly detached from the city's club circuit today, Westbam's influence over electronic music in Germany remains. The forthcoming package features a remastered version of "Oldschool Baby (Piano Mix)", along with reworks from Smallpeople and Gerd Janson. Samples are streaming below.
