  • Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events will host a series of parties at the Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park, starting with one tomorrow night and finishing up on Saturday. The event, which also happened back in 2013, is called REVIVAL, and it's part of DCASE's experimental series OnEdge, which "dives into themes of identity, modernity and spirituality." Directed by Eric Hoff and Jesse Morgan Young, and described as "a sensual experience at the intersection of queerness and spirituality" it will happen onstage at the Pritzker, the towering concert shell that serves as Millennium Park's centerpiece. A team of performance artists will be on hand, and Smirk—whose credits include appearances on Wolf + Lamb and Archipel—will play a DJ set. Admission is free and open to the public, space permitting, and the party will kick off each night at 9 PM sharp. Check out this video from 2013 for an idea of what to expect. REVIVAL isn't the only DCASE event featuring some house-y sounds in early 2014—the department also recently started a new round of Wired Fridays midday dance parties.
