  • Alex Omes, co-founder of Ultra Music Festival , has died at the age of 43. At this stage the cause of death in unknown, but Ultra released a statement that read: "The organizers of Ultra Music Festival extend their deepest condolences to the family of Alex Omes and are saddened by the news of his passing. We will continue to remember and celebrate Alex for his love, passion and contributions to the Electronic Dance Music community." Omes had worked as a bouncer in Miami nightclubs before founding Ultra Music Festival in 1999 with Russell Faibisch. In the past 16 years Ultra has grown into one of North America's biggest dance music festivals. However, as Billboard report, Omes had been edged out of running the festival after it split from Miami's Winter Music Conference in 2010. In 2012 had sued to regain control.
